Color Palette Generator

This free color palette generator builds harmonious color schemes from any base hex color. It produces complementary, analogous, triadic, split-complementary, shade, and saturation palettes — with every color as a copy-ready hex code.

How Color Harmonies Work

Color harmonies are combinations chosen by their relationship on the color wheel. A complementary palette pairs a color with the one directly opposite it — 180 degrees away. Analogous palettes use colors that sit next to each other, while triadic palettes pick three colors spaced 120 degrees apart.

The generator also produces split-complementary, shade, and saturation variations, giving you a full set of options for any project. Each palette is computed from the HSL representation of your base color, then converted back to exact hex values.

  • Complementary: base color plus its opposite on the wheel.
  • Analogous: neighbors of the base hue, ideal for gradients.
  • Triadic: three evenly spaced hues for balanced contrast.
  • Split-complementary: the base with two hues near its complement.
  • Shades and saturation: tuning lightness or intensity for depth.

Using Generated Palettes

Designers use these schemes for brand colors, data visualization, UI themes, and illustrations. Because every swatch is an exact hex code, you can copy each value straight into CSS, design tools, or code.

Start with a base color that fits your brand, generate a palette, and experiment — the generator updates instantly as you type a new hex value.
